Bariatric
Standard equipment sizes may not accommodate the specific needs of bariatric clients. SelfCare carries a full line of
bariatric equipment that provides extra width, depth, and higher weight capacities.
Therapeutic Surfaces
Therapeutic support surfaces are an integral part of a comprehensive plan for the prevention and treatment of
pressure ulcers. Many of these products are manufactured by ROHO, a leader in wound care.
SelfCare specializes in partnering with health care professionals to provide therapeutic surfaces to clients with

Palliative Care Program
SelfCare has been a supplier for the BC Palliative Benefits Program from the day it commenced. We have assisted
both the North Shore and the Fraser Health Authority in providing palliative care equipment to clients in their homes
throughout the Lower Mainland. Our employees are trained to deliver effective and efficient services to our clients
at a time when they need such services to be rendered quickly and compassionately. We guarantee a quick response
time for palliative requests.
BC Palliative Benefits Program funds medical equipment and supplies to support residents’ wishes to live their
last days in their own homes, outside of the hospital setting.
Guaranteed Fit Program
SelfCare’s team will work with the client and care team to ensure that the equipment fits. Adjustments are made
until the equipment “fits”.
Consignment Services
Certain categories of serialized equipment purchased at SelfCare are eligible to be resold through SelfCare’s
consignment service. Please contact your SelfCare representative if you have any questions regarding our
consignment service. Only equipment originally purchased from SelfCare is eligible for consignment.
For Purchase, Rent, and Consignment
Benefit from the flexibility of SelfCare’s distribution - our product line is available for purchase,
for rent, and on consignment (for certain products).
Veteran’s Affairs Canada (VAC)
Since the inception of the Equipment Recycling Program by VAC, SelfCare has been on contract to provide the
services to veterans for the refurbishing, fitting and storing of medical equipment. This program allows for
equipment that is in excellent to very good condition to be reused by another veteran. This saves funds that can
be used for other programs within VAC.
SelfCare simplifies dealing with third party funding agencies, like Veteran’s Affairs Canada (VAC) and Non-insured Health Benefits (NIHB).
