Easy to use and reliable, the Vicair Academy 415 mattress replacement and inserts use the Vicair smart cell technology to provide excellent pressure redistribution. The interior of the zippered mattress cover is segmented. Each area is filled with smart cells which are air filled triangles (pyramids). The mattress cells are larger than those found in the Vicair cushions. The low friction surface of the cells allows them to move easily against one another and conform to the body’s contours for excellent pressure redistribution. Each of the mattress segments has different fill levels. The perimeter segments contain more cells to increase the stability of the mattress for transfers.
The mattress inserts are priced starting at $1045 and are rentable from $150 per month.

Selfcare recommends the Vicair for several reasons. It is an excellent mattress for the treatment of Stages I to IV pressure ulcers and can be used for pain management for any client. The cells slightly compress and slide against one another to envelop the person. The separate compartments provide stability. The exact number of cells in each compartment can be adjusted to optimize pressure redistribution.
